BEN ALLMER – Executive Program Director

As a 10+ year DJ Veteran, Ben has pretty much done it all. He’s survived 9 years of spinning at several of Calgary and Banff’s most popular night clubs covering all genres, including his current residency as well providing his expertise as an entertainment consultant.  He’s done hundreds of events as a mobile DJ, a lot of them with Westrax Music Promotions along side Dean Ernesto and he has also has had the pleasure of opening for such artist as Maestro, Choclair, Swollen Members, and has worked with other notable artists and personalities for various events and parties.

In 1993, Jeff started with Westrax Music Promotions, where he worked as a DJ along side Dean Ernst. Hundreds of events later, Jeff’s DJ credits include former residencies at Area 51 and Escape night clubs in Calgary and opening for acts such as Chris Sheppard, Love Inc., SoulDecision, Wide Mouth Mason, among others. Currently, Jeff can be heard bi-weekly on his live-to-air mixshow, “The Mix on Max Trax”, featured on Corus’ Max Trax Rave.

In addition to music programming and DJ’ing, Jeff brings his passion for music to the world of remixing and producing, along side Stu MacQ as the production team Seismic Crew. In this endeavor, he has had the pleasure of working on remixes for such artist as Willa Ford, Craig David, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, TLC, Justin Timberlake, Jewel, Shawn Desman and Jennifer Lopez. In fact, the Seismic Crew Remix of “Jenny From The Block” was included on Jennifer Lopez’s release “The Reel Me”.

Jeff has also participated as a judge for Juno Awards and as a member of the Dance Category Pre-Screening Committee for the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

CAROL ANN MURRAY – Programming Consultant: Modern Rock Radio

Prior to Max Trax, Carol Ann could be spotted at one of her numerous positions at radio in Edmonton. These include Music and Programming Director at CJSR college radio, Chief Librarian and Producer / Announcer at CKUA and as the Music Director at K-97.

Her live musical highlights include, to name just a handful, Radiohead/Cure/Pixies at Coachella 2004, Foo Fighters/A Perfect Circle/Catherine Wheel at Summersault Tour 2000 and the Sonic Youth/Neil Young concert in 1992 in Edmonton.

Carol Ann has also participated as a judge at the Juno Awards for the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

MIKE ZAFIRIS – Programming Consultant: Urban Radio

From 1996-1998, Mike could be found working as an Urban Music Consultant for Universal Music. Prior to that (91-96), Mike worked as a DJ for CHRY 105.5.

Mike has also acted as Chair (2004 & 2005) and Co-Chair (2002 & 2003) for the Juno Awards “Best Rap Recording” committee for the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
